Originally formed back
in 1996 by Matt Hill & Shep Maners as a two man acoustic duo playing pool
halls and bars, Naked Rodeo has grown into a five piece local favorite
around the Birmingham area.
Naked Rodeo is a mixed salad of influences from “old school” country, new
country, alt-rock, and blues. The band prides itself on flavoring cover
songs with a seasoning that is truly their own. Every Show is a high energy
event that can leave you exhausted by the end of the night.
With a solid following and a presence of a major act, Naked Rodeo has caught
the eyes and ears of Alabama’s largest country radio station, as well as landed
opening act positions for David Allan Coe, The Marshall Tucker Band, Confederate
Railroad, Cory Morrow and Rachel Proctor. The Birmingham Jefferson Civic
Center called upon Naked Rodeo as the pre-show party band for the 2004 &
2005 the Kenny Chesney concert as well as for the 2005 George Strait concert
at the BJCC. In the Summer of 2005, the band shared the Bill at the Verizon
Wireless Music Center in Birmingham with Brooks & Dunn, Big and Rich, and
the Warren Brothers.
Nashville has also caught wind of Naked Rodeo and has taken advantage of
their following to expose new acts, such as CMA nominated artist “Blue
County” and Nashville Star’s John Stone; by adding these artist and others
as support to NR shows.
